Hungarian Food Bank Association
The Hungarian Food Bank Association is a non-profit organisation that aims at creating a link between surplus food and people in need.
The main activities of the association are to find and collect food that cannot be sold for any reason and organise its transport, safe storage, and distribution to the people in need. HFA has about 350 partner organisations that serve about 300,000 people in need in Hungary.
In addition to being involved in various European initiatives related to food waste, HFA carries out research, innovation, and education.
HFA’s role in this project is to verify the feasibility of the i-REXFO business model in Hungary for the aspects related to the donations to charities.
